Atlas now hold SIA Approved Contractor Status

Our Managing Director John Kenny is pleased to announce this great news and says:

“Here at Atlas Security Patrol I can proudly say that we are committed to offering you the highest level of service and are constantly looking to grow and achieve new accreditations to support this fact. Investing our resources and time into not only meeting the standards of these accreditations but exceeding them, we can guarantee you the unbeatable service you deserve.

Atlas Security Patrol Limited prides itself on operating at the highest level. Gaining our ACS (Approved Contractor Scheme) accreditation now proves this. To qualify for the accreditation every company taking part is subject to a stringent vetting and auditing process, this is undertaken by the SIA (Security Industry Authority). The purpose of vetting and auditing is to look at each individual process we have in place to ensure compliance with relevant regulations set out in the ACS criteria. We are pleased to announce that recently we passed have with flying colours and have approved contractor status for Keyholding & Security Guarding

Once again I thank the whole team who work so hard and who are responsible for gaining this accreditation. Working together as a team and having a defined development and growth strategy has enabled us to be at this advanced stage as a new Company”

What is the ACS?

The Private Security Industry Act 2001 requires the SIA to establish a “system of inspection for providers of security services, under which those organisations who satisfactorily meet the agreed standards may be registered as approved, and may advertise themselves as such“.

The objective of the SIA’s Approved Contractor scheme is to raise performance standards and to assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities. The scheme is voluntary and was developed in consultation with representatives from across the industry; it only covers those parts of the industry that are regulated by the SIA and the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (as amended).

The Security Industry Authority manages the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), a voluntary quality assurance scheme that measures private security suppliers against independently assessed operational and performance standards. Organizations that meet these standards are awarded ‘Approved Contractor’ status.

Companies wishing to be members of the scheme are assessed against 89 individual indicators of achievement and to maintain approval, an approved contractor must re-register every year and renew approval every three years. This process means that approved contractors are independently assessed on an annual basis.

You can access the SIA website at   www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk
